About the Job
Senior Business Analyst needed immediately in downtown St. Louis for 15-18+ month assignment. Ideal candidate will possess technical skills, the ability to work in a fast paced, diverse environment and have strong written and verbal communication skills . Local candidates only, please.

Candidate should have a technical background, and be able to assist with researching interfaces, helping design data models, helping with the technical evaluation of vendor software,and track down questions about interfacing with other systems. The ideal candidate will be a strong BA with exposure to IT development projectsand need tohave previous experiencewriting use cases, process flows andinterview stakeholders. An example of day to day work activities would be where you meet with an internal customer groupto gather software requirementsone person focuses on business process, one person focuses on security requirements, one person focuses on technical requirements. Were looking for the person who focuses on technical requirements. This will allow the candidate to respond as necessary to request for requirements aroundreporting, technical solutions, etc by asking the right questions and drilling in to the correct details of how that will be accomplished.

The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will analyze and model the business environment by conducting detailed research and working with subject matter experts to gather knowledge andinput to assist with the creation of enterprise strategies, policies and standards. The SBA provides broad functional and technical expertise within multiple business areas in the development and implementation of business processes and applications with minimal supervision. The SBA will be responsible for designing, implementing and modifying multiple custom applications. The SBA will consult on resolution of complex problems.
Description of Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the business to define, document, and prioritize project requirements
Initiates and facilitates communications between the technology and the business teams
Ensures adherence to department operation standards
Follows the prescribed SDLC process and operational framework
Maintains integrity of project documentation throughout all project life cycles.

Solution Design :
Proactively investigates options to solve business problems
Consults the business and advises on application functionality and usability to meet business requirements
Documents and recommends business process change
Creates domain models, workflows, process flows, data flows, -and-amp; interaction models.
Creates functional prototypes -and-amp; authors detailed interaction -and-amp; interface specifications.
Creates documentation of business requirements through use cases, screen mockups, data dictionaries, and swim lane diagrams
Evaluates existing business and operational flows and define the As-Is process models, then defines To-Be process models for business process re-engineering initiatives.
Assists with designing and architecting solutions in conjunction with the development team
Testing -and-amp; User Acceptance:
Prepares testing strategies, test plans, and test cases
Creates and executes test scripts
Compiles testing results
Compiles and tracks issues
Communicates defects discovered in UAT to the project team
Conducts system, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing
Facilitates end user and train the trainer sessions as required
Solution Deployment :
Leads change management activities and delivers business solutions
Develops training materials where required
Independently provides functional support for the business during implementation and post-implementation phases of a project
Required Experience
Managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Leading large sessions of 12 or more Subject Matter Experts to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex problems using diverse methods and tools
Advising business teams on application design alternatives and business process change opportunities.
Shaping requirements into valuable business solutions and presentations using strong documentation skills.
Delivering integrated business systems support to users (internal and external to IT), applying an expert understanding of the business issues and the impact of technology.
Leading root cause analysis and resolution for complex problems.
Leading test planning and all test cycles using proven testing techniques
Minimum of 8 years of total I.T. experience including at least 6 years experience as a Business Analyst.Preferred depths in systems integration or programming
Required Skills
Business Analysis within the BPM field is a plus
Strong requirements gathering skills along with extensive experience creating current and future state workflows using Visio.
Use Case development, UML prototyping, and diagramming experience is required
Knowledge or certification in formal process improvement techniques
Strong analytical, reasoning, organization, and negotiation skills
Detail-oriented person with strong problem solving abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated relationship management skills
Ability to redesign and recommend business process improvements
Ability to analyze business drivers and goals for both strategic and tactical implementation
Ability to work independently and on teams
Ability to quickly learn business applications and concepts
Ability to operate effectively within all functions of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Ability to research, evaluate, and categorize information from a variety of business and technical sources
Ability to develop roles, audience stories, business rules, and detailed business requirements
Ability to identify intra- and extra-project dependencies
Ability to lead the prioritization of requirements according to business objectives and technical feasibility
Skilled in Sharepoint, SQL, XML, Oracle,.NET
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
Skilled in Web application user interface design prototyping (e.g., Axure)
Skilled in business process engineering and system design
Educational Requirements :
BA or BS computer Science, Business or related field of study
